GLP ARMASTEEL and ARMACOAT composite repair systems

Groupline Projects has obtained the license to apply GLP ARMASTEEL and ARMACOAT composite repair systems in Southern Africa.

 These patented systems were developed in South Africa since 2008 and offer ultra-strong, resilient coatings and steel repair compounds. These composite solutions have proven themselves to be incredibly durable, without a single known failure to date.

Ultra-high strength aviation resins have been modified and re-manufactured for Industrial use at a much reduced cost. Aircraft Epoxy resins have tension strengths in the region of 70 MPa compared to the 5 - 20 MPa of normal resins found in the industry. These advanced resins are further strengthened by adding microfibers. If still greater strength and reinforcement are required, small quantities of Carbon Nanofiber are then added.
If extreme resistance to wear is required, fine Silicon Carbide and fine Ultrapure fumed Silica is added.

The systems offer excellent corrosion protection and acid resistant functionality.

It is believed that these products offer the toughest solutions currently in existence in terms of tensile strength, bending strength, fatigue resistance and impact resistance. Wear resistance (in accordance with tests done in the USA) is also 400 % higher than that of rubber lining.

The main purpose of Armasteel is to provide an ultra-high strength alternative to welding. This system is much stronger than welding, extremely resistant to fatigue, even under extreme vibration conditions. The main advantage of this is that most equipment can be field repaired, some equipment such as tanks were repaired while in operation. There are no weld affected zones and thus no subsequent cracking in the weld affected area and the products is quick to apply and quick cure versions are also used if there is such a requirement.

These materials were tested and simulated by testing labs as well as tested in the field. A High Strength Epoxy/Fibre repair was found to be superior to welding repairs in all cases. It also performs where other wear materials such as rubber lining simply tear or disappear due to atmospheric degradation.

COST EFFECTIVE DESIGNED SOLUTIONS
The solutions offered boils down to cost effective repairs, not only from a direct saving over steel alternatives, but also in terms of reduction in production downtime as in most cases the work is performed in situ. Proven over time, these solutions have saved operations many millions of Rands.

Designs pertaining to structural repairs and installations are professionally signed off and independent computerized stress analysis has supported the designs.
